Countdown to Camp: Week of July 23rd

OK, future campers, community members, and readers....We are seriously gearing up for Camp Common Ground. Our first session starts in less than five weeks from today and we can't wait for y'all to arrive. The weather has finally started to warm up around here (in fact, we had a heat wave like the rest of you!), the hammocks are hung, the rockers are out on the porch, the pond is cool and clear, and the peepers are calling your names. Now all we need is YOU!

We wanted to use this space to share a little more extensively what each week of Camp Common Ground will include this year. There are four fabulous weeks to choose from and that will be the issue - choosing just one! So read on about all of the great folks that are coming to Week 1 (starting July 23rd) of Camp Common Ground this year. We hope this inspires you to reigster if you haven't. There is still room in some weeks, so if you haven't been to Camp before, now's the time to sign up!

Week 1, July 23-29, 2011...

Welcome to Camp Common Ground Week 1. We have a full slate planned for you. Sam and Alice Silverman will be offering Non-Violent Communication to us again this year. Get ready to curtail your “jackel” speak and bring your giraffe ears. Talor Stewart is going to share his skill of drum building with campers. If you have not had the opportunity to build a drum with Talor please indulge! (A separate fee is required.) And when you go home you will have learned to drum with Dew B. Wilde, the most extraordinary drum teacher around. You can also learn to play chess with her! We are also happy to report that Veronica Gadbois will be teaching adult art all morning. We're thinking she'll be offering a taste of weaving and a "Time to Clay," each for half of the morning...

For adults in the morning and families during the afternoons, Kim Dunkley can take you hiking and Steve Blane is swinging with the ukulele. Tennis instructor, Peter Hansen will be here to share his “love.”   We are thrilled to have Sandra Griffith who is one of our very favorite multi-age arts and crafts teachers. And Justin Bouvier is manning the pond, of course!

Charlie Cunningham and many other familiar faces will be in the kitchen. We are so happy to enjoy Charlie’s highly rated falafel.

We have some new folks to welcome this year…if you come to camp you’ll meet them!! And if you haven’t signed up you may miss out on the fun!!! So sign up now!
