These are the stories you’ll tell for a lifetime.
Camp Common Ground is an inter-generational family camp that welcomes people of all ages, ethnicities, lifestyles, abilities, and economic backgrounds.
Ash Week: July 22-28
Birch Week: July 29-August 4
Cedar Week: August 5-11
The reason we keep coming back to camp is because it’s one of the only times every year where we just get to be together. There’s no pressure to cook, drive, or do anything in particular. There are lots of options to spend time with our teenagers and just as many options to spend time without them (based on their whims). We leave camp feeling better connected and more grounded. It’s magical.”
Come make connections with us
Nestled into the scenic foothills of Vermont’s Green Mountains, this week-long family getaway is filled with opportunities for relaxation, creative expression, nature, fun, great food, and community. Family camp is an easy way to vacation with your extended family, knowing that everyone from toddlers to grandparents will enjoy every minute. Just show up – we’ll take care of the rest!
At Camp Common Ground we believe that a healthy family vacation should be a balance of shared family experiences and time for personal growth and revitalization. Our programs balance both, with opportunities for each family member to connect with their peers, their own interests, and each other.
While the tiniest campers make supervised messes and teens explore the trails, grownups can find an art class, swimming spot, new friends…or a good book in a hammock. Nature, creativity, music, silliness, learning, lounging – do as much (or as little) as you please.

Lodging & Grounds
The Common Ground Center is a 700-acre campus that offers the beauty of the Vermont outdoors with all of the facilities and amenities to make your stay with us convenient and comfortable. Tucked into this green landscape, you’ll find beautiful barn spaces that double as classrooms and stages, playgrounds, hiking trails, sport fields and courts, hammocks, a veggie garden, and much more.
Your family’s cabin will be a cozy basecamp that’s tucked away for privacy and quiet, but still super close to all the action and amenities. Each unique cabin is close to the dining hall and the shared bathhouse, which offers indoor and outdoor showers, electricity, and flush toilets. You may also choose a semi-private room in the EcoLodge or to tent camp on provided platforms or in the open field.

The food at Camp Common Ground is a bit legendary. Wholesome, buffet-style meals are made from scratch by our talented cooks, who transform locally grown ingredients into generous spreads full of options to satisfy the most selective and adventurous eaters alike. We can accommodate special diets, too – just ask!
