Spend the weekend in a stress-free environment: learn a new skill, explore the magic of a Vermont autumn, and relax by the woodstove.

This year, Tim Gillespie is back again to teach the group the basics of hand woodcarving. Tim will guide the group through a series of project options using simple hand tools. No experience or previous skill necessary, but for those who have worked with wood in the past, Tim can provide guidance to take your work to the next level.

In addition, we'll be baking up some delicious bread and learning the tricks of the trade from Nathan Hammer while we're at it. If you've always wanted to make bread but never had the chance, this is a great and tasty way to learn! Nathan is our local expert in all things baking in addition to being a Men's weekend alum!

Men's Weekend offers outdoor activities for those who wish to participate. Take a guided hike on Common Ground's 700-acres of hiking trails, or take advantage of our recreational facilities (tennis, basketball, playing fields, etc). Our Eco-Lodge has a cozy Common Room where you can hang out and enjoy the woodstove. In the evening, there will be group activities and plenty of time for conversation. All participants will stay in our Eco-Lodge and enjoy delicious meals cooked for them. Coffee and tea (and hot chocolate!) will be available throughout the day and evening, this is a BYOB event.

The weekend program fees - listed on our registration form - include all meals, lessons & materials, guided activities, and lodging. Receive a $50 discount for each friend you recommend to Common Ground who registers for our Men’s Weekend. Make sure your friends mention you when they register!

Please call our office (1-800-430-2667) to register or for more information.
