At Common Ground Center, you’ll find everything you need for the wedding day you’ve imagined – beautiful rustic facilities, breathtaking mountain scenery, and the freedom to bring your ideas to life. This is a place where your family and friends can gather, relax, and celebrate for a whole weekend while enjoying nature, exclusive site use, and each other.
Our 700-acre site is available from mid-May to mid-October* and can accommodate up to 200 ceremony guests. Common Ground is located just 30 minutes from Burlington, Vermont, allowing for easy travel for family and friends coming from far away.
Ceremony & celebration spaces
Common Ground Center is the ideal place for DIY-minded couples who have that picturesque, green, rustic Vermont wedding in mind. With a variety of venues for small and medium-sized celebrations, each space offers plenty of flexibility for you to arrange and decorate however you’d like.
Hay Barn
With exposed beams and a rustic, cathedral-like feel, this tastefully renovated barn provides a intimate place for indoor ceremonies.
Eco-Lodge
This cozy event space and lodge is available to rent year-round and is the perfect location for a small winter wedding.
Dining Hall
Our largest facility features a bamboo dance floor and can seat up to 165 people. This building also has a large, screened porch ideal for cocktail hour.
Outdoors
You can choose from many open fields all with breathtaking views of the Hogback and Green Mountains for your ceremony and reception. Many couples select dates in September and October to take advantage of the unparalleled Vermont foliage.

Lodging & activities
Invite your guests to stay for an entire celebration weekend! Camp Common Ground can host 150 overnight campers in a variety of unique, comfortable accommodations.
Twenty unique, off-the-grid cabins can host up to 100 people and are centrally located around a shared bathhouse. Each cabin can sleep two to six people, making them ideal for a honeymoon suite or smaller family or friend groups.
The Eco-Lodge, with private bathrooms and electricity for up to 31 guests in eight guestrooms, is a great space for bridal parties, grandparents, and families traveling with babies. The Eco-Lodge Common Room is a warm and inviting communal space for evening activities, rehearsal dinners, and more; a kitchenette allows guests to prepare a cup of coffee or a snack whenever they’d like.
Tent camping on dedicated tent platforms or out at the edge of the meadow is also available for your more adventurous guests.
Common Ground Center also features miles of hiking trails to explore, a two-acre swimming pond, a campfire pit, outdoor grills, a wetland site, a creek that borders our property, basketball court, play structures, two tennis courts, and plenty of quiet spaces to relax. Guests can truly unwind and experience Vermont at its best!

Catering & Vendors
Our fully equipped commercial kitchen allows you to have ultimate control over meals and food by hiring your own caterer. A wood-fired brick oven is also available for experienced caterers to use. We are happy to share resources and leads to local caterers, vendors, and all the supplies you’ll need.
Sustainability
We know how important it is for your wedding day to reflect your ideals and interests as a couple. That’s why we’re proud to share Common Ground Center with folks who value sustainable practices as much as we do. Our site is 100% solar powered, with 560 acres of land forever protected by the Vermont Land Trust. The fees you pay to rent our site support our non-profit mission and protect the environment.
